  • Classic Sonic To Go Low Poly With the Sonic Jam Legacy Skin, Available to Sonic X Shadow Generations Newsletter Subscribers

Classic Sonic also has skin(s) in the game.

The first Classic Sonic skin has been officially revealed for Sonic X Shadow Generations, and its a cool one: a low poly skin based on Sonic's "first" 3D appearance, Sonic Jam (ignoring Sonic the Fighters and Sonic 3D Blast's special stages, of course). Continuing the trend from the last couple of Sonic games, this skin will be available for free to anyone who signs up for Sonic X Shadow Generations' newsletter. You can sign up on the official website here. Don't wait too long, because the deadline for this is November 1, 2024.

With this reveal, we now have a skin coming for each character in Sonic X Shadow Generations. The addition of skins is something that has become a mainstay in the franchise since Sonic Colors Ultimate.

Sonic in his first 3D appearance is coming as a skin to Sonic X Shadow Generations as a skin. It will be available to those who get it via the game’s site newsletter. This does look pretty sweet, I must say.

    So, any thoughts?

It does make sense that they would add this, both to compliment the Dreamcast skin, and to continue their trend of these newsletter skin bonuses, but nevertheless, it's still really cool to see! Probably the one I wanted the most out of the candidates for a Classic Sonic skin.

I have nostalgia for Sonic Jam, which I played as a kid. I especially loved the Sonic World segment in that game, so this is a win for me.

Nice to see that low-poly art is seen as retro now. There's something of an elegant simplicity in everything looking like it's made out of papercraft.

Excellent. The skins for this game have all been great picks. Makes me hope the next Sonic game goes harder with it.

Jam and SA1 skins for the original generations experience is sublime.

Well done for finally acknowledging the mods Sonic Team. You know what we want.

This is great and all, but I'm not considering getting the game. Besides, my Dad can't afford things anyway. I'm more interested in the prologue short that I know will be posted by Sonic fans on YouTube.
