  1. We all know Sonic loves to eat his Chili Dogs, but let's be real, that isn't exactly the ideal food for the most important meal of the day. So, where does our favorite blue blur go for breakfast? Well... IHOP, apparently, if this leak from Reddit, and some hidden images in the IHOP website has anything to say about it. That's right, the International House of Pancakes is very soon going to be the delectable destination for some Sonic themed meals! Each menu item is themed after a core Sonic character, and ready to satisfy your appetite whether you're looking for something sweet or savory! So, what's on the menu? In addition to these six scrumptious selections, the leaked display mentions Sonic the Hedgehog integration with the IHOP Rewards program, awarding PanCoins with every purchase in exchange for free meals and exclusive merch. The mention of merch and "gameplay" on the display implies there might be some Sonic minigame associated with this promotion, perhaps one not too dissimilar to McDonalds' recent promotion with Sonic Superstars. So, has this surprise collaboration with IHOP have your tummy rumbling? Which meal are you craving? Me, I'm hankering for a bit of those Chaos Chocolate Pancakes! 3. Another Sonic the Hedgehog game collaboration is heading our way, and this time it'll be players of Korean RPG Ragnarok Online who will be treated to some fun adventures with the blue blur and his friends. Developer Gravity announced that a Special Collaboration Event will take place in the game between March 26 - April 23, 2024. During the event, a special dungeon will be made available to play, which will include unique enemies that are styled to look like Dr. Eggman. The "Dr. Eggman's Secret Base" Memorial Dungeon will be accessible inside Prontera, and you'll need to be at a base level of 100 or higher in order to fully enjoy the stage. Once completed, an Exchange NPC will appear so you can swap items gathered for special rewards. That NPC will be none other than Knuckles the Echidna. Character Artwork for the Ragnarok Online Special Collaboration When you complete the Memorial Dungeon the first time, you'll win two special items that can be exchanged with Knuckles; a 'Bookmark' item and a 'Reading Card' item. You can also gather Rings in the Dungeon, another special Exchange currency that can help you buy helpful consumable items. The prizes on offer range from character mini-costumes (that also set bonuses), a Dr. Eggman mask and a Chao Egg to be used as a pet. On top of this, there are microtransaction elements to the collaboration too - using KP currency you can purchase special packages that include a Sonic Badge and exclusive costumes in the form of Super Sonic and a bunch of Chaos Emeralds. Take a look at some of the sprite-work below - you'll be facing off against Dr. Eggman, Metal Sonic and a range of robots that creepily don Eggman's face. And below you can see some of the costumes in action once unlocked. Full details of the campaign can be found in the images below... ... or you can visit the official Ragnarok Online website for a complete rundown of the event, as well as tips on how to play the game and client downloads. Are you a big Ragnarok fan? Want to download and play for the first time just to get some digital Sonic goods? Let us know in the comments below! 5. SEGA will be utilising a new 'speech synthesis' technology developed by Toshiba for its games over the next three years, as the two companies announced a formal business partnership that aims to expand the use of 'text-to-speech' in the industry. As Gamespot reports, Toshiba's speech synthesis technology, "normally used for input assistance on PCs and car navigation systems," has a small memory requirement, making it "convenient for game consoles... [it] also complies with TTS (text-to-speech) standards and has the ability to analyze a human voice to imitate its tone and speech behaviors." We doubt SEGA will have much use in the Sonic space for this kind of tech. Indeed, the first announced game to use speech synthesis will be upcoming PS2 and Gamecube horse racing game Derby Tsuku 3, where the announcer's voice will be able to properly pronounce the player's custom names for their horses. But you never know - there may be more interesting applications for this than simply reading text inputs. We'll see! Source: Gamespot
  6. You may have read the news story back in November, but the day (or night) has finally come - the Monster Hunter Rise collaboration that brought a host of Sonic cosmetics and themed quests will be leaving tonight at midnight. That's just about an hour and 30 minutes for the UK, and about roughly 6 hours for the US, give or take. This is your final chance to get the quests, but luckily - once you download them, they'll remain on your game until you delete it from your system. The entire Sonic collab consists of two quests - Gotta Hoard Fast, and Super Shady Look-Alike quests, each of which will give you various gear, cosmetics, and displayable figurines. Luckily, for anyone who's yet to grab the quests, it's incredibly easy to do so and even for a completely fresh save - can be done in about 10-15 minutes, as long as you don't waste too much time on your character creation. All you have to do is create your character, and your companions, then do a short series of tutorial quests around the village that introduces you to various tools of the trade. Upon registering as a hunter in the hunter's lodge, you'll return to the quest maiden outside, and you'll be called over by Senri the Mailman. He'll tell you that the rampage has put restrictions down on the hunters gathering, and then once that's over, talking to the mailman again will bring you to various menus, in which you can scroll down to 'Add-On Content', and it'll download all currently available quests. WARNING: This is not enough in order to gain the quests however. Ensure you hit the "Accept All Quests" button, which will download all currently available quests and accept them. This will ensure you gain the quests. Then, to simply test out if this worked, run back to the Hunter's Lodge, and run to the Quest Maiden. Speak to her, and a new menu option will not be available (Event Quests). You can then go in and check if the quests are there. Gotta Hoard Fast is a 2-star mission, while Super Shady Look-Alike is a seven star mission. As long as the missions are now present at the quest maiden, you are officially set and don't need to worry about the missions. Just ensure you don't delete the game off your console, or else the missions will go with it! There's no official time given for when the collab DLC is gone, so don't sleep on it, get it done ASAP!
  7. It seems like Sonic the Hedgehog and Inugami Korone are truly super-best friends! After a series of successful video game collaborations and regional promotions, the Japanese VTuber has once again partnered with SEGA to produce a short four-panel comic in aid of the company's "Fast Friends Forever" initiative. In the comic "Return to Sender", the YouTube personality "demonstrates the explosively positive way of working together with friends," according to the Sonic social media post. We do like how fun and expressive it is, even in doodle form. You probably don't need any kind of introduction to who Inugami Korone is, but just in case SEGA has provided a handy Q&A with the online virtual celebrity as well. Enjoy!

  9. If you haven't downloaded the Monster Hunter Rise collaboration quests yet, you've got a rather short timer to do so. As of January 21, Capcom will no longer offer downloads of the Sonic the Hedgehog, Universal Studios Japan, and Sengan-en collaboration quests. While this will not impact users who already have this content, you won't be able to download or re-download the content after that date. This includes the Sonic Palico armor, the Tails-styled Palimute armor, and the Sonic-styled hunter armor. Though unfortunate to lose, the Sonic collaboration event has been available since November 2021, announced alongside special Monster Hunter collaboration content in Sonic Frontiers.

  13. In what is perhaps one of the strangest Sonic partnerships we've seen this year, SEGA has announced that it is teaming up with both Roblox and Amazon to offer limited edition digital goods for the build-a-game platform in exchange for various gift card purchases made via the online retailer. Crucially, your free virtual gift will entirely depend on the level of spend you're prepared to make in the name of Roblox. If you sacrifice between $10-$20 (or £10-£20) you'll unlock an Amy Backpack, whereas if you dedicate between $125-$200 (or £125-£200) to the church of 'blox, you will net yourself a Sonic Backpack. These virtual items can be used across the entire Roblox platform as an avatar accessory, and if used in the Sonic Speed Simulator game, you also have an increased stamina bar. So that's useful. The promotion is available until 30 November 2023, and you can visit the specialised Amazon landing page [affiliated] for more details. If you want to get yourself some codes, you may use the links below in order to purchase directly. Amazon US: Amazon UK: Full press release from SEGA can be found below. Note: The links included in this article lead to affiliated external retailers. By clicking and continuing through these links, the Sonic Stadium may earn a commission from your purchase, which will go towards supporting this website and our coverage. 15. SEGA has launched a new collaboration with Japanese theme park Fuji-Q Highland that will see Sonic and his friends take charge of the venue's attractions and announcements, and be available for photo opportunities in a dedicated area called 'Sonic Square'. The event started on September 27 and runs until October 15. As you might expect, the partnership is to coincide with the release of Sonic Superstars, and the website promoting the event mentions a play corner in the Sonic Square where people can try the game out and get a free character face mask for doing so. Attendees will also be able to play Samba de Amigo: Party Central, too. Elsewhere, various park attractions will feature announcements from Sonic, Tails, Knuckles and Amy while you wait in line, and there will be a number of photo areas where fans can take pictures with the awesome foursome. A collaboration menu will also be available, offering chili dogs and themed coloured drinks. That last image there is of something called "Knuckles' fruit-loving colorful churros". Sounds delightful. Other activities include a mystery-solving game where attendees must find Sonic-themed clues dotted around the park, with these Chaos Emerald-shaped sweets offered as prizes for completing the puzzles. The collaboration will also feature famous Japanese VTuber, Korone Inugami, who will be donned in Sonic gear and performing various duties around Fuji-Q Highland too. From photo shoots to announcements and even a talk event where fans can win signed collaboration artwork as illustrated below. If you're planning a trip to Japan before October 15, it's worth checking out Fuji-Q Highland while this event is running. It's fairly easy to travel to, if you're also heading to Kawaguchi-ko to see the sights of Mount Fuji.

  17. If you like Sonic, and you like driving, then boy does Europcar have a treat for you! The vehicle rental service is kicking off a rewards-based giveaway event, to coincide with the release of Sonic Superstars. Nintendo Switch and Sonic Superstars bundles are on offer as top prizes in a free draw, while special 'Sonic Superstars gifts' are available to those who hire a vehicle with the company for a limited time. "You might even get to meet Sonic himself," reads the website. Can we pay a little extra to have him drive the car for us as well? The promotion is only available in select countries - UK, Germany, Spain, France and Portugal. Which makes sense, given the 'Europe' part of the company's name. If you fancy driving a car that's not yours for a little bit of Sonic tat then head to the Europcar website here and take one of those motors out for a spin.

  19. Remember when we reported that SEGA was going to be partnering with an entire Japanese airport earlier this month? Well, on 23rd August the craziest part of that collaboration happened - Kyushu's 'Saga' International Airport was officially renamed to 'SEGA International Airport' for the day. The event was covered on both the Asahi and Mainichi Shimbun websites, with plenty of photos and video to go around. As it was a specific collaboration between SEGA and ANA Airlines, Sonic the Hedgehog was on the scene along with the airline company's mascot 'Muppy' to wave off departing flights from Kyushu, as well as have photos taken with cheerful passengers. Apparently the entire partnership was introduced by ANA flight attendant Hiroe Honda, who wanted to set up an event to show gratitude to the Saga Prefecture for its support of the airline company during the COVID-19 pandemic. Honda-san herself had been assisting the prefecture since July 2021 due to the pandemic's impact, and was reportedly pleased with the results of her efforts to bring some cheer to the area. "Observing Sonic and Muppy interacting with children and fans made me realize that this initiative was a tremendous success," Honda-san said. She added that she intends to return as cabin crew within the year, saying, "I am committed to passionately conveying the unique features and attractions of various destinations to our valued customers." That's really nice. Check out the video below for moving pictures of the entire day. via Sonic City

  21. Travellers passing through Kyushu International Airport at the end of the month are in for a Sonical treat! SEGA has teamed up with the Saga Prefecture, to transform Kyushu International Airport from SAGA airport to SEGA airport for one day only, on the 23rd of August. Those looking to fly high on the day with carrier ANA will have an opportunity to meet Sonic for a special commemorative photo, and receive stickers as a keepsake. Passing through Kyushu airport on that date? We'd LOVE to see your photos!

  23. Today, Xbox Wire has announced a contest to win a custom Sonic 2 Movie Sonic vs. Knuckles-styled Xbox Series S along with two truly reprehensible controllers covered entirely in thick blue and red fur. UPDATE: Contest tweet has gone live. We've embedded it in the article. There will be two victims winners of the specialty console and controllers, and entry requires you to follow Xbox with a public Twitter account through 7 days after you've entered and retweet an official contest tweet with the hashtag #XboxSonic2Sweepstakes. U.S. entrants will also be allowed to enter through use of Microsoft reward points. I will now spend the following paragraph describing the controllers in unflattering terms: They look like the Hollywood live action-CG version of the Elmo and Cookie Monster Wii remotes. They look like the eggs Gritty would lay in order to propagate his species. They look like fondling a terrier's face. They look like someone dropped the stickiest controller onto a shag carpet and had to cut it loose. They look like if hardware could experience floating point errors. And most importantly: they look like an actual waking nightmare to clean. OK, I think that's got it out of my system. Good luck if you enter!
  24. While revealing the most horrifying contest prize conceived by mankind, Xbox Wire also announced that the Sonic the Hedgehog DLC for Minecraft will be getting an update. On top of the existing player and world skins, the update will add six additional skins, and a new challenge in the Labyrinth Zone section. We don't have any details on what these are, but considering the promotion aligns with the release of Paramount's Sonic 2 movie, was announced alongside a Sonic 2 movie contest, and highlights a level motif that has become rather important to the Sonic 2 movie, it's probably safe to say that the new skins and challenge will have something to do with the Sonic 2 movie. The update will be available on the Minecraft Marketplace on April 5th.
  25. With Sonic the Hedgehog 2’s premiere mere days away, we finally have some info on what the Sonic Forces mobile game will be doing for the movie. Today, SEGA Hardlight confirmed a month of Sonic 2 events for the game, which appear to be focusing on Movie Sonic, Tails, and Knuckles. It seems likely Movie Tails and Knuckles will join the roster. The game’s previous movie event brought three new characters and a brand new race course, so we may get something similar here. The event will run from April 1 to May 1, and further information will be revealed via the in-game newsfeed. You can find the graphic released alongside the announcement above.
